BRAYN’s EOS Journey: Strengthening Leadership and Predictability

My relationship with BRAYN Consulting began on a Zoom call with Brady Bryan and Curt Jaeger on November 6, 2023. From the very start, I knew this would be a meaningful and impactful collaboration when Brady shared his "Why" for creating BRAYN Consulting: “to create jobs in America!” By helping clients save on taxes, BRAYN ensures that those savings are reinvested in job creation—an ethos that aligns perfectly with my purpose as an EOS Implementer.

Our work together officially began at BRAYN’s two-day EOS Annual Planning session on January 4, 2024. The BRAYN team is fully committed to Patrick Lencioni’s philosophy: truly great leadership teams are both Healthy and Smart—and most are unwilling to do the hard work required to become the former. BRAYN, however, embraced the challenge, using structured offsite sessions to strengthen their ability to predict and drive growth.

A Disciplined Approach to Vision and Growth

BRAYN’s commitment to EOS principles ensures alignment with their long-term 10-year target: saving their clients $10 billion through tax incentives. Their disciplined approach includes annual two-day offsite meetings and quarterly one-day check-ins, creating a structured 90-day cycle to reflect on past performance and set new priorities. This system keeps the team aligned with their vision—where they want to go and how they will get there.

Adapting to Change with Strength and Strategy

2024 was a challenging year for BRAYN, with uncertainty in the tax code creating obstacles. Instead of retreating, they remained focused, proactive, and solution-driven. They set aggressive goals, tackled major challenges head-on, and embraced the discomfort of change.

With two leadership team members transitioning to new opportunities, BRAYN used this as a chance to streamline its organizational structure. A smaller, more agile leadership team ensures consistent client service and improved delegation, optimizing efficiency across the firm.
